Yeh that would be two worth while engine mods, thing is the cost you're right i could easily justify it on a tunable engine but these Polo's are quite limiting.Still have to love them to bits though 8)

The thing is though some rolling roads will vary with like a difference of 5-10bhp so when you are only talking such small gains as with the GTI its always hard to tell what power output you have.

My little GTIs got

- A Custom enclosed carbon induction kit
- Denso iridium plugs
- Magnecor kv85 ht leads
- New ignition coil to help spark (really the old one broke but all is good 8) )
- Sytec bullet fuel filter
- Jetex cat back exhaust system
- Custom decat

Was remapped last summer at Awsome GTi with a Custom ECU Remap

Rolling roaded at 139.6 bhp with 129ftlbs of torque (on a warm day  )

dunno what it would be now. would be interesting to get it RR'd again as it feels so slow these days, but im sure its just cose it feels different from my boyfriends G40 that last RRd at 170bhp so i tend to lag behind when we drive together lol. i mainly just try to focus on how good he is on fuel

139-140 is about right, you might get over the 140 mark with a raceland manifold but were only talking small gains again.

JBS Auto Design have quoted me for Schrick cams and I am hoping to get them installed sometime later this year.
256 Race Camshafts with a Phase 2 Custom Map should see to 160-165bhp along with the typical BMC CDA, 4-2-1 Raceland Manifold, De-cat, Full stainless Mongoose Exhaust system.

I just need to get my manifold sorted and get it de-catted and i'll be ready to get them on Order.

256 cams will give a lumpy idle but more top end power whereas the 244 cams are more practical but dont offer as much power gains.
Its going to cost me over a £1000 but F*** it 8)

Alas a manifold was brought. but the wrong one was sent. after spending ages heat wrapping it my boyfriend was so disheartened bless him.
turns out the one they sent was for a pug gti, luckly a mate from work had one at the time and brought it lol. but there wasnt time to get another one before the remap  but o well like u said small gains

Worth fitting though not just for the slight power gain but it should give it a nicer engine note too.
There is a lot of work involved though because its not a straight fit.

How does the car feel now running 139bhp?
Does the car pick up alot better?

Feels so good :) brings a smile to my face every time I drive him.
Picks up soo good. So stress free. I had a 1.0 for a short time and it put me off driving. I lost all confidence in pulling out on junctions and stuff incase I didn't get my speed up quick enough but with gti I'm instantly there. I'm not a speeder or anything but it's nice to know I have the speed there if I ever need it.

That's good to hear :) there are not many re-mapped GTI's on here so its good to see how they perform.
