Misfiring and spluttering alot! HELP!

iddles ok, revs up to about 2300 and then is fine after but it is really misfiring inbetween 1000 and 2500, any revs after that and its ok, changes gear ok and all that but iv been driving in horrid snow n wet weather do you think the coilpack or plugs have been hit or something?

I drove it like 100 meters n then fort na i might damage summin, What ya reckon it could be, iv got a 4-2-1 and de-cat???

Yeah my mates got a vag-com but its xmas so he cant be assed to pop over, id be the same lol!

Im gona clean up all my lead connectors and coilpack, im due a new one and a spark plug service with leads aswell, word is the red leeds are hard to come by nowadays???

red leads can be got, but its chance if you get a set. I got mine easily, but I used to work there so that may have some play in the matter!

It sounds like a split HT lead. Look under the bonnet whilst the engine is running and see if you can see any bright arcing from the leads to the engine.

Yeah i had a good look around last night in the dark and found no jumping/arking!

I think im due a service of this nature anyway, Anything else i should change as im in the garage,

im having this changed,

Coilpack.
ht leads.
spark plugs.

What else shall i have done just coming out of winter???????

get your coolant checked for the correct concentration too, but apart from that it should be ok.

Was my leads and plugs in the end, i went for ngk R for my plugs as for my bosch plugs me dad got they wasnt correct but iv got the correct ones now and there red leads aswell, fort u couldnt get red leads anymore????

Red leads can be got, but its luck mate. All down to luck ;)

Bout time i had some luck :lol: But yeah all running really really well!

Will be getting a new coilpack wen im at work again, cheers for ya help dude!
