Max offset's on a 9N

Does anyone know what the max offset's are on a 9n, front & rear???

Well I've bought a set of Porsche 993 rims, http://www.wheelenhancement.com/index.p ... tail&id=33

Fronts are 16" at 7j with et54

Rears are 16" at 9j with et70

No tyres yet as I'm not sure what will work with the staggard width's?

I didnt realise the crazy offset's till I got them home, lol

Ouch! Fronts probably less of an issue and to be honest there's more space in the rear arch anyway so you may be alright. Personally I'd get 25mm spacers to bring them out to where they should be. That'll leave your fronts at et29 and a 7inch rim (perfect to tuck into the arch) and the rears at et45 with a 9inch - again this should be spot on to tuck into the arch. Depends on the look you want. I run 7.5" wheels at et30 or et33 and they sit on the car quite low with no rubbing. With the spacers you should have the same sort of fitment.

The good thing is you can trial fit them (no tyres) to work out the space clearance, and then decide where to go from there before spending any £££.

If these are genuine Porsche rims then you'll need 5x100->5x130 adapters anyway.

I think what David says above is spot on. With 9s I'd be tempted to poke a little at the back and go for 35mm adapters. 25mm adapters on the front though 30mm would also work.

This all depends on how low you want to be. Tucking only works when you're slammed (preferably with air ride). At low, but not too low, heights you probs want to sit them out a little more.

Venom are usually the cheapest place for these in case you were wondering.

In case you wondered about tyres: 195/40 would look best but 195/45 works better for ride and filling the arches. Again all dependent on how low you want to be.

Yeah they are the real mcoy so I really wanna make them fit! I was thinking 35mm on the back to give a bit of poke as they are 16's on coilies so I'll have a little arch gap anyway

My only concern is that even with a 35mm adaptor that would still only bring me down to et35 which still seem's a bit big as most guy's ive spoke to with 9's on the back are running et28?

I'm still getting my head round offset's so I may be talking cr*p

Also, with the tyres, would I go for 195 / 40 (45) front and rear or will I need diff sizes as the wheel's are staggard? Again bit of a noob question but this is my 1st 'proper' set of rims, lmao

ET28 on a 9" would poke quite a lot. ET35 would give enough poke. You might even need a little camber (via camber plates) to get it to sit right. ET40 on a 9 would still look 'right'.

I'd be tempted with 195/45, 205/45 with that setup. You'd still get stretch on the back but you'd have enough tyres to avoid arch gap.

I wasnt sure how big an et you could go before having problems with the rims fouling the rear shock's, etc?

45 profile tyres sound about right to me as the car is a daily anyway

What's the best way to approch the camber? are the plates easy to fit?

Edit: the camber plates aren't too tricky if you're handy with cars and have the tools/space to work on it.

My wheels are 8J with Et35 and they sit flush to the arch. Im getting bigger adaptors for the rear when I fit them in the spring for UD.

How much clearance do you have on the back behind the rim as with a 35mm adaptor I will have et35 same as you'res but an extra inch @ the back?

On the front not alot tbh with the 25mm adaptor. Its quite close to the strut, but it doesnt catch it. if adatpros were 5mm smaller then they would possibly. Im still thinking about 30mm adaptors, maybe even 35mm asdaptors for the back. Fronts im keeping as they are.

Cool, I'm running 7's on the front so no real clearance issues there

Sounds like 30 / 35mm is the way to go on the back then although a bit annoying as a mate has a set of x4 25mm adaptors going cheap, lol
