Remote Central Locking Kit

Post by Karson3270 »

Hi there guys, I have wanted to have a remote control fob to unlock/lock my car for awhile now as it gets very annoyed trying to open the car with me key.

I've been looking around for kits and stuff and I have found this kit: http://www.in-car-stuff.com/shop/falcon ... -p-32.html

I have read the reviews and everybody rates it high, and say it takes about an hour to fit. Is this true? Has anybody actually fitted a kit in before? If so which do they recommend?

But, if not, and you know where to get a good kit that opens the boot, locks/unlocks the car, hazard lights flash, closes windows and beeps then could you tell me where to get it? :P

Also I will need a few starting guides on how to wire it in... As I have no knowledge about wiring security in, only lighting!

Thanks guys!

Remote central locking on the mk7 polo is a nightmare. A friend of mine spent days trying to get it to work and eventually gave up as it isnt as easy as it sounds. These use the same wire for both lock and unlock, just one of the pulses is of far less voltage so it can differentiate what is what. It has to have resistors and what not for this, and though we tried, it just wouldnt work :(

Yeah, I've got a few guides here telling me what resistors to have and stuff:

http://rclick.co.uk/pdf/vw_polo.pdf

Username: mkd
Password: rclick

Universal guide: http://www.rclick.co.uk/documents/Unive ... w_polo.pdf

If you have another attempt at this please let me know how it goes.

Thanks

Its the rightclick system i have installed on mine. As said it does require a resistor. One of my mates that is very good with car electrics fitted mine and it only took him like half an hour. System is very good and have never had any problems with mine

Well it does say connect the White/Black Open wire with a 180 ohm resistor. And connect Both White open and White/Black close wire with the cars lock wire which should be Blue/White or Brown/White

it was a 180 ohm resistor that was used. See this guide (It is for a fabia so wire colours will be different, atleast mine were) it requires registering to the briskoda forum.

From what the diagram says, he should have wired both wires into one of the wires only.

Does anybody know where the siren in the Polo 9n3 is located? Or the wire for it is?

Thanks

I am considering adding the remote facility to the central locking on my 2010 Polo 1.2S.

Does anyone know if the wiring is the same as the previous model?

The RightClick documentation does not cover the current Polo, only up to 2009.

Thanks

but in all seriousness I don't have a clue about the new Polo. Take your drivers door card off and see if there is a blue/white wire going to your lock motor. Try on the mkviii polo section too
