K04-001 Upgrade
What do people think of this? Worth the money, APR and GIAC offer this upgrade and ppl have seen 250bhp reach, 26bhp more than i have just now. Was planning the Hybrid route but been reading some horror stories recently and put me right off

Re: K04-001 Upgrade
Not sure yet, emailed awesome just this morning. Was planning the K03 Hybris but am hearing a few bad stories about them and there reliability and on the cars themselves which is just too much hassle for me
K04-001 setup seems to be a better option and has OEM reliability.

Re: K04-001 Upgrade
What do ppl think about this upgrade??? Worth it or not???
Gonna cost me 850 to fit and map if i sully all the parts including high flow mani. Only thing i need to get is the turbo, got priced at 500 quid with all the gaskets.

Re: K04-001 Upgrade
It will the GIAC file am going for. The guy thats doing it all is a VW specialist, Jim Curley at Star Performance http://www.starperformance.co.uk/contact.htm
Not sure what the smoke was about, it was just when i was coming up the drive this afternoon. Going back out later so will keep an eye on it. Coolant is fine, so ruling out a head gasket, if its anything i think it will be the oil seals on the turbo. Seems to be a very common thing on the K03/s

Re: K04-001 Upgrade
Don't know mate, there are some K04's running in Australia, don't think you are going to get the power from just the Turbo.
What is 'everything else'? For best results, I thought you had to get a new MAF housing, new fuel reg, etc, etc, etc?
Maybe come to VWW forum, VWIndahouse has a pretty good write up on his car with the K04 and we still do a fair bit of posting.

Re: K04-001 Upgrade
Yeah am on that forum too, read up on everything about it twice i think.
Got all the needed hardware components sitting in the house also. FPR, MAF, Injectors, Exhaust Mani.
Holding off the now, going to buying a house in the next week or two (hopefully anyways)
