Polo 6n G40 with pics of build

Post by 9N3 Turbo »

HI all,

Thought i would post up some pics of my polo as i will be putting it up for sale in March at Ultimate dubs.

I have had it for a few years and have done all the work myself over time.

The reason i am selling it is due to me buying a Polo GTI 1.8T. Which my G40 polo leaves.

This was the 1.4 16v model and i have done the following;

Rear disc conversion using complete rear axle from seat ibzia GTI with polo GTI calipers and poly bushes
FK konisport coilovers
280mm front brakes
poly bushes for the rear of the wishbone
Manual steering rack
modified solid rear gearbox mount
Full Recaro colour concept seats (Black & Blue)
Momo comp steering wheel
Boost gauge in air vent
Removed rear wiper
HID's & LED side lights
BBS RM's 7.5 x 15 with 195-45-15 toyo's, Stainless steel dishes chrome bolts black centers with polished small center cap.

Engine
Fully rebuilt 1272 G40 PY engine less than 1000 miles ago
Stage 4 super charger (with stand alone oil pump) fully rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago
65mm pulley (twin v-belt)
Gas flowed head with 1mm larger valves
Schrick cam
Adjustable cam pulley
Gas flowed G40 inlet
De-wedged throttle body
4 branch manifold
Power flow 2" exhaust system (de cat) with 3" rolled out tail pipe
Front mount intercooler with brackets on bumper bar.
Blue silicone hoses
K&N cone filter
rebuilt gearbox with longer gears

In Feb it is booked into the paint shop.
When i sell it there are 2 options;
1) Sold needing a remap to incorporate the changes i have made £3750
2) Sold with remap done £4000

Here are a few pics of the build. I need to get some up dated ones but here are a few

This is when is was lowered 40mm

Very nice, any idea on the amount of bhp its running?

One of the locals, Jas who you'll probably know had a 6n2 G40 and then raised the bar with a 6n2 1.8T.

By any chance did have you got your hands on the Polo Tomo had built?

Thanks mate

Not sureon the BHP but expect it to be around the 160 - 165 mark.
Just need to get it fully remaped at Jabba to find out and touch up the current map.

Yeah did see that one once at Ace cafe north London but think that guy sold it then the new owner put in a 1.8t. I think?

Tomo?? no i got a white Polo g40 stripped what i wanted and sold the shell.

Looks great that does, i bet its quick! The RM's look brilliant, not too sure on the TSW's though ha.

How did the conversion process go? Was it worth the time/effort?

Quick yes. Upset a lot of BMW's with this baby.

Thanks on the wheel comments, TSW's were only on there whilst the RMS were sorted

Conversion was done in a week

Suspension upgrade, rear disc conversion and full engine conversion.

Worth the time and effort hell yeah especially when you hear it dump or hear the charger doing it's thing.

Everywhere i have taken this car people love it.

Nice ride! That's a pretty sleek ride you have there. Well, my friend is wanting to do some mods on his polo but we both don't know where is a good part to replace with. Well, seeing your polo with some great parts and it would seems be a good guide to follow and I'm quite sure my friend would be envious of your polo. Anyway, thanks for sharing and impressive work! :)

hi there, you said that on the 6n you used an ibiza gti rear axle for the disk conversion, do you think I can do the same on a 6n2 instead? I sourced out a whole ibiza gti axle with the disks and thought about swapping it with my rear drums...
