ESP switch

Post by NMavs »

Hi Guys. Was just wondering if anybody has the ESP disabling switch in their polo? Is this something that can be fitted easily / or at all?

I think that on any Polo (vw in general) with ESP there should be that switch...

I tend to agree - ie if you don't have an ESP switch then you don't have ESP fitted to the car.

Thanks for the replys guys. It was just when i bought my 1.9 TDI sport from VW, i got it factory built and was told that it came as a standard feature on my model, but the option in which to disable it with a switch would cost £350. So i didnt think much of it and never bothered, but now with the snow I stuggle like hell gettin on and off the street. Is there any way i can deffinatly make sure it does / doesn't have this feature? Cheers

is it not possible to take the fuse out?

im sure it shares the same fuse with the ABS too, so winner for both!

no esp and no abs - winner in snow!

I simply don't believe that idea that its got ESP built in but you have to pay extra to get a switch! Its well known as pointed out by VW that in extreme or extraordinary conditons it might be benefitial to switch it off. I think that your VW dealer has pulled your ???? If you scan it with VAG COM VCDS then you would see if you have ESP. By the way, I think that you will find that ESP includes EDL - which means elctronic locking differential - so its really TCS+EDL rolled into one option package - but its still not that good!
