Springs/Shocks vs. Coilovers

Post by lowfoon »

Here's the situation..

Currently on 195/45/16 and want to get lowered around 40mm so the wheel just fills the arches
Still want a comfortable ride (reason i left my pug106 for polo)
Need to be able to carry people at the back without any rubbing
Don't want to spend too much (£200 max)

Problems in deciding..

Jackson Tuning coilovers and hottuning - heard they give a firm ride :( BUT they are adjustable :)
Jackson Tuning Springs and uprated shocks 40/40 - not adjustable :( BUT nicer ride than coilovers

Currently swaying towards springs because i rather have a more comfortable ride.. but how comfortable are they, the same as standard?
Also heard something that driveshafts knacker when lowered??

What are your opinions?

After some-more research I'm really swinging towards Jackson Tunings springs and uprated shocks - but changed my mind to 60/40...

Have to confirm by doing some measuring up tomorrow..

Just to let u know mate, jackson tuning setups, (coilovers or springs + shocks) are notoriously hard! I mean like every crease in the road up your arse hard lol. You cant a comfortable ride without the hefty price tag your gonna struggle tbh. The best I could recommend in Weitec's at about £300, or spax about £250 at the very least as they have gas filled shocks for a softer damping rate!

But if its comfort your after jackon tuning is NOT the way to go mate. Just do a search on here or club polo for the proof!
