rear disk size on a 9n3 Gti

can anyone tell me what the largest disks that will fit under standard gti rear calipers are?

if you change the carrier you can get the vented 256 mm rears on

but with the standard carrier, the largest is the original 232 mm solid setup

The 1.4 tdi ones fit or the 1.2's they all run 256mm front discs, just find some of them on ebay

Was that a guess or a fact?

I'd think that you could never assume that just because the fronts of one car are a certain diameter that if you take the the calliper mounting bracket off you could use that diameter of disc on the rear. The mounting points might not be in a standard position and/or the calliper will be differant.

BTW, if my memory serves me well, all "lesser" Polos do without a front calliper mounting bracket - its part of the front hub assembly!

I have a set of calipers/carriers off an Octavia VRS which bolt straight on to the gti rear they take a 256mm disk...
