lack of power @ around 3000rpm!!
lack of power @ around 3000rpm!!
Hello I am new around here... great forum you got here
. I own a 6N2 1.0 MPI
and as the title says at around 3K rpm the car sorts of starts jattering and looses some power for 3K onwards and it is really annoying!!! BTW this only happens when I slam the pedal to the floor. If I increase the RPM slowly with the pedal lets say half way down all goes fine. I asked several mechanics and all came with varied faults, from HT leads to fuel filter to fuel pump and injectors or throtle body
and I ll end up bank rupt if I change all of these!! Have any of you got any idea what could it be pls? tks in advance

Re: lack of power @ around 3000rpm!!
Do you have any of the lights on the dash? Had you had it on vag-com?
Re: lack of power @ around 3000rpm!!
no lights on dash
! Ehh not yet, do not have the kit ... maybe someone had the same problem and managed to solve it ... ( btw spark plugs are new so they are not the trouble source for sure) and does anyone know where to find the fuel filter maybe I ll give it a try??? cos I ve been told it is near the rear wheel arch, next to the fuel tank but it is nowhere to be found
... could it be incorporated with the fuel pump found in the tank?

Re: lack of power @ around 3000rpm!!
fuel filter is located behind the fuel tank. its in front of the rear axle area when looking at the underside from the rear of the . When changing it ensure you connect it the right way around - there is a guide in the DIY section.
It could also be the intake manifold sensor - id get it plugged into vagcom as it will most likely tell you what sensor or item isnt working properly. Itll save you time trust me!

tks for the replies, I ll have a look again for the fuel filter but I am 99.9% sure it is not there because I have followed the fuel hoses from the tank till the engine bay, and I think I saw now filters
!! I have just ordered a VAG-COM for ebay ... hopefully it is not difficult to use
