Hi all new to the forum, just brought a mk4 today a 1.6 cl
it has a few goodys, aftermarket rims, coilovers, dtm mirrors and a few other bits and bobs
it does have one problem needs a gearbox, anyone have one let me know
my other vw is a 97 caravelle
im also into bm's having a couple of m3s, one i trackday a fair bit
hope catch up with whats going on here soon

You'll have to get some pictures up, the 6n/mk4's are great little cars and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Have you driven other VW hatches before?
Gearboxes can be found in a variety of places, froms scrappies, forum, repair the current one etc

First of all, welcome to the forum.
I'm still kind of new as well, but I noticed that you've got the same issue I had when I first bought my 6N.
My gearbox was broken as well.
I found a second hand gearbox for £130 and had it fitted as well as new brake shoes for £220 altogether.
I was delighted because most people said I got myself a bargain.
The gearbox was from a scrap yard.

No not really nearly brought a golf a year ago, my mum had a mk 2 years ago which i drove occasionally
