My new polo at last!!!

Post by joe2612 »

As some of you may or may not know i had a pretty horific accident last october and my beloved gti was destroyed and i broke all the parts on the forum ( eventually made about £1300 ish for the lot- so thanks to those who purchased stuff!).

After 3 months of looking and umming and arring whether to get a golf instead, i found a very neat, tidy oem example 4 miles away. One lady owner from new until last year, Has 80k on the clock, full vw service history up to 60k, non corroded wheels, and pretty much spotless body work. Even has the orginal gti mats in immaculate condition aswell!

Unfortunately stll on the orginal box so this will need addressing at some pont :( just a quick question, has anyone tried the recon themselves? i'm pretty handy with mechanics and did some gearbox work at Mclaren racing a while back... not sure how difficult it is..

Will upload pics asap!

Its not that easy on these boxes. Requires a variety of hydraulic press attachments, various alignment tools, different size pullers and separators. Its easier to just pay someone who does it all day long!
