Fuel light on btu full TANK :o

after my crash last monday my cars fuel light refuses to go off and a little bit concerended as i tried banging some more fuel in to see if that would do anything but it hasnt and well :S jsut a minor thing but its a pain because it stands out and every time i look i think im running low and need to fill up then i realise that the tanks full >.<

is the gauge reading empty? if so it's probably a bad earth on your fuel sender.

the gauge is fine its just the light
