-->Lowering Problems<--

Post by poloboyben »

Hi. half way thrpugh lowereing my car, have done the rear of the car and have come to do the front and have come across a bit of a problem. Have jacked the car up, removed the two front wheels, opened the bonnet, removed the black cap and just need to know how you open the top nut, ive found the correct sized spanner and it just keeps turning. Do i need a special tool? if so what tool is it?

Cheers

yeah
i had this problem too
if im right you have to wedge an allen key in the hole (if it fits?) to stop it from turning whilst undoing the nut, though im not sure an allenm key fits, i think it was a sort of oblong sort of shape, in that case use a flat screwdriver (two man job!)

guys just so you know be very very care full as those top bolts hold the spring under tention so you do need a sping compressor! i once heard of somone tring to manually conpress a spring which slipped and rammed the shock shaft in his chi and out of the crown of his head. so please take care

as far as im aware you only need the spring compressors (which you can get from halfords and the like) for the front, as the back ones simply pop-out after undoing the top locking nut, shoot me down if im wrong!
