Hey all,
Has anyone fitted a parrot kit to their polo? if so any help with wires and all would be appriecated..
Also, does anyones radio not turn off with the ignition, as mine doesnt after i fitted my ipod, and i cant figure out why!!?

I fitted a parrot 3200ls a couple of days ago. You need an adaptor cable as the standard RCD200 radio has quadlock connectors and the parrot kits use ISO connectors.
You need to connect a switched live and a permanent live, the parrot wiring harness is shipped with these the wrong way round so you need to swap them at the in-line fuse holders. I ran the ignition live to the fusebox and connected it (by complete trial and error) into fuse 32 using an 'Add a Circuit' fuse holder. There's space for the mute box and all the wires behind the heater controls. I also spliced in the mute wire from the parrot kit so my ipod/cd player is paused when I take a call.

Perfect, someone who has fitted one.
Well i brought the harness from ebay so ive got the quad lock, installed that. and changed over the red and orange fuses so its red to orange and orange to red so the thing turns on...
Ive got a red ignition fuse cable, spare and 3 mute cables.. it already mutes the music when it rings, but it is permanently on and same with the radio, i have to turn the radio off manually, instead of with the ingintion? Does this happen with yours?

Hang on, I'm slightly confused. By 'spare' cable, do you mean the yellow mute wire direct from the plug that goes into the mute box? Where are you getting your ignition live from, the radio or somewhere else?
Since you bought the adaptor harness from ebay I'm assuming its the Autoleads one (SOT 976?). I got one of these, but ended up using the harness from the parrot website. I think the Autoleads harness has the switched live and the permanent live already swapped over, whereas the parrot option doesn't, try changing the in-line fuses back and see if that makes a difference.
My radio turns itself off when I pull the key out, the parrot unit turns on and off with the ignition only. I also have the ipod adaptor fitted, but mine was fitted by the dealer for the previous owner, so I don't really know how it was done. Does the radio turn on/off with the ignition if you remove the ipod kit completely? Maybe one of the wires (canbus or something) has come loose? Really struggling to think of anything else to be honest...
