Re: Stubby aerial
I just got round to fitting the stubby aerial from a Sharan - it's about 6cm long for less than £10 off ebay. It looks fantastic, but the reception is seriously rubbish. It's just about acceptable when stuck in traffic, but on the move it's completely useless. Other people seem to have had more luck with them though.
I've just bought a new 20cm one off ebay, haven't recieved it yet but if it works I don't mind it being a bit longer, its still half the length of the original!
Fitting takes about a minute - the old one just unscrews from the base and the new one screws on.

Re: Stubby aerial
Ahh great, I seen on a forum some guy was selling stubby aerials but I can't seem to find the thread anymore. Apparently they work like a dream as well. I'll link you once I've found it!
Re: Stubby aerial

Re: Stubby aerial
Do you have to remove the bit thats connected to the roof / paint?. . .or do you just unscrew the old ariel from that Base and screw the new one in. . surely it can't be THAT easy?
Can you put the old one back on by just screwing it back in?

Chewy where did you get your shark fin?
Re: Stubby aerial
Off a Lad on here Mike_M I think his user name is, he is also on Clublupo
I understand he has had a few problem with them on the MK7 with the wrong connector so I would advise checking yours first

Re: Stubby aerial
Get the aerial from the new polo it is about 6 inches in length costs 11 quid +vat and looks better imo than 1 the std version and 2 the little stubby one. and the thing pulls in the signal better.
