you could always pester your local friendly (?) stealership into telling you the pressures - just kid on that you bought a polo with those tyres as a factory option but now you've lost the info (handbook missing, petrol flap sticker mysteriously worn away...).
my own handbook gives pressures for a range of tyres and situations, and it does differ according to size (...slightly..). Unfortunately as its a mk3 handbook and only for tyres upto the comparitively mild G40 spec ones, I cant give much help!

not 31 and 34-35, assuming 1 bar = 14psi?
(oh, no, sorry, my bad, yours are closer.. perhaps a half-pound low in fact.... would have just removed this post but it's jolted what i thought to be a fundamental constant so feel i should leave it. it's not 14.0 - it's 14.7... so even 15.0 would be closer instead of "fourteen"! that's dodgy secondary school physics for you!)
also the site i got that conversion from has disillusioned me of how fast my car should go
... miles to kilometres is not 1.6 any more but 1.609 (oh... call it 1.61)... so 145k is now only 90.1mph rather than 90.7..

If you live in the Midlands http://www.tyresrus.co.uk are the cheapest bar none.
I was quoted £80 each for my Bridgestones and £126 from National!
Which are the best all round tyres? Performance, wet driving and most importantly when doing 18000 a year...tyre wear?

I know it's been a couple of weeks since i actually got the tyres fitted and on the car but it's the first moment i've had to take some pictures and post them.
Very happy with the tyres!! I have far more grip now that's probably due to the size increase in wheel as well as the good tyre!!

Pictures were only takes on my phone so i do apologise for the quality of the photos!!

The only problem with Toyos is the soft compound. A lot of people complain they wear out quicker, but I find the price makes up for this. Although on this car the toyos have really lasted...
I had a full set of toyos fitted in May 2003 while on 1000 miles.
Replaced the fronts on 18000 miles in february and the rears on 20000 in April.
so 17000 on the front, 19000 on the rear, not bad
James.
