Crazy gauge

Post by dantheram »

My temperature gauge is going mad, it climbs to 50 odd then goes up and down before suddenly jumping to the temp it always sits at, 90.

Is the thermostat f****d?

No, thats just the temperature sender. Get a new one (about 25 quid) from a dealer (do NOT get a cheap replacement as they suck!) and all is well.

is the sensor the thing i can see, plugged in, about half way down the radiator on the right as you look (or left of the actual car).

Unplug the connector - it should be green plastic. Take a pic if in doubt and ill show you where it is.
