hi there guys.
im looking for reassurance more than anything, iv got my pd100 1.9 and i obviously want more power, will i notice a big difference once its mapped? iv been quoted 140/145 bhp 225lbft for a custom map
can you all give me your experiences and reviews and whether its worth it or not?

i had mine done by morebhp and it made it a lot more fun to drive and seemed to increase fuel economy.

if you want more power first of all get a map, however when i had mine mapped i had it mapped really high, as jason asked me how high i wanted it.... the higher you do it, the faster it will give you some sort of problem for example, (thats the deal) ive blown 2 pd100 turbos in the last 6 months, but that is not down to the map itself, its also down to my driving and some people say the de cat but i dont believe in that...

now i have the pd130 turbo and intercooler in mine with the same map n its fine, turbos quite a bit bigger then the tiny pd100 unit so shudnt blow at all. so if i was you id buy the turbo of the guy above, then have it custom mapd. its a s**t load faster then standerd  and aint that much to do cost wise and fitting wise. its a straight bolt on you just need to get the pd130 pipes

hope that gives you a bit of an idea. n please note theres nothing wrong with morebhp maps, as i sed when i was having it mapd i told him to make a map that would destroy (clutch/turbo) as i can get the parts easy and wanted an excuse to upgrade. theres certain rules to driving hi powered cars i.e. floor after 2000rpm etc. if you follow them n have a moderate map you will not break anything

zedzo can you give me a list of everything you changed mate as i was told by jabba sport i would need new injectors, pd130 turbo, the 130 turbo pipes, fmic, maybe a decatted exhaust as well mate? and a map... it was turning out to be a lot of money mate.
are the 100 pipes the same as the 130?

ok well heres what i did.... first looked around all the forums asked people, dint get a proper answer, so then got fedup n bought everything from a 130, turbo, intercooler, all piping and went n fitted it as ma pd100 turbo blew.
have a look at my diagram and you should understand it rather easy.

Image

you need the pd130 intercooler if your doing stock pipes but if your FMIC'in i dont no. the 130 intercooler is just so all the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler fit without adjusting them. otherwise its only a tiny bit bigger then your stock 100 intercooler. . . so you need the section from bottom of intercooler to turbo. 3 pipes in total. 1 Big L. 1 Little L and one metal Pipe.

next you need the intercooler the top pipe of the intercooler and the "plastic" boost pipe that you can see by your engine cover. this is the only plastic pipe in them so you should be able to find it easily.

there is one pipe left which is connected to the EGR you dont need to change this,

now basically all you do is fit the turbo the intercooler and all the bottom pipes. and the one ontop of the intercooler.

Next you split the PD130 Plastic Pipe and identical PD100 Pipe in half, and stick a silicone samaco style pipe in between them both as the PD130 is a little bigger. the reason you do this with pipe is so it all connects to the EGR and INTERCOOLER with the oem pipes and clips.

so the top of your EGR will be your PD100 and the bottom of the plastic pipe will be a PD130 so will connect to the 130.

and thats about it really. then to get full potential you need a custom map. so if yours aint mapped yet do it after the turbo. because a standard map now will cost you 250+ and then a custom will cost you around £400 if you do em both like me then your gna spend 600+ which is a waste really. so just spend the £400 once.

however it works for me as im not gna custom map it, as then id need a new clutch and i cant b botherd spendin money yet lol.

if i dont make any sence luk at the diagram and read this a few times as its 4 am" and im half asleep lol

also you dont need pd130 injectors or FMIC to make it fit. if you wer going hybrid then id bother changing them otherwise there cool. FMIC will oviously decreease inlet temps an give you more bhp but its not necessary. and for injectors oviously they ll spread out more fuel easier but again there not necessary. its not necessary to change the exhaust but i would change it as it will help get rid of the waste. just slap on a back box, de cat it and watch it roar

I've not had it in long enough to test it on ecomony I would expect it to be better as u dnt need to rev it hard to move. I would say its in the 150s with my old map that was on the pd100 turbo. With a new map n intercooler I would be getin to the 170s

I have a pd100, had a map on it which boosted my performance figures to 120kw 434nm at the wheels on the stock turbo, injectors and clutch. I blew the turbo chasing down an OPC opel.

I just fitted a ibiza cupra TDI turbo which is a garret VNT1749vb version and mapped again, running 1.7bar boost on it which is low compared to last time I ran 2bar boost. Doing 120kw 400nm now and the car is very reliable, I have a FMIC, pd160 intake with bmc filter, 63mm turboback exhaust to aid in spool-up and cooling of the charge. I can get more out of this car but am reluctant.

I have a friend with a pd130 with the same mods and also a cupra turbo making 155kw 500nm which is rather drastic, and he has been running his car like this for 40 000km without any hassles 8)
