Bigger wheels = more drop?

Post by GuyGTi »

Well This weekend i fitted some H&R springs which lowerd the car 35mm.
Im feeling a change of wheel and a bit poke.... hence

Now these are 17 inch and with a tyre with profile of 45. Will this make it look higher than what it is on the H&R springs.
Help / advice appreciated :)

why post this question twice?

depends on the width of the tyres - 205x45 will run higher. You want 205x40x17.

Dropping it 35mm with H&R Springs, i would suggest 205/45/R17 will fill up the arches just a tiny bit mate, but it's better to get 205/40/R17 because it's slimmer but you can hardly notice much difference in profile. In future you can drop it lower further by getting some coil-overs.
