revo

Post by Gtimatt »

stage 1, is it reallllyy worth it. my local garage will give me a diagnostic check, and remap for 350 plus vat. but the thing is, they recommend a cambelt change. mines due one this year/early next, because of the remap and that another 350 plus vat. just wondering from those of you who have the revo map is it worth nearly £1000

Now, i dont have a REVO but ive got a custom map which is similar to stage one. 199bhp with BMC CDA i thought the revo figures were rather optimistic i got quoted 207Bhp with just a map. its ment to be quite a harsh map - what a difference to the car! unreal. i paid £299 including VAT and WELL worth it. I was shocked when i got it and improved MPG slightly :) a polo as fast as a golf GTi? GREAT IMO

Iv got mine running stage one revo and its fantastic. i have replaced the panel filter with a BMC one and i had a rolling road run. Personally im sold down the revo highway but to be honest alot of well known companies are acheiving around the 200bhp mark. The 1.8t in 06> Polo GTI's are a very strong engine for the most part. Your cambelt obviously throws more money into the equation but id wait until it needs doing.

you can see why i like revo!

Very happy with my REVO Stage 1. Awaiting stage 2.
I have dynoed my car yesterday in Auckland, New Zealand. Ambient temp around 20-22 degrees.
Bit of a heat soak (as I don't have front mount), made 182hp at wheels, probably would be making 187-188hp without the heat soak, and with proper fan over intercooler. That equates to 250hp at flywheel if you are using 25% loss through drive train, 233hp at flywheel if using 20%. This is with 17" alloy wheels, heavier than stock.

You need power at wheels at same dyno comparison, not at flywheel.
