Fast Road Cam on 6n 1.4 8v?

Has anyone fitted, driven or got a 60hp 1.4 8v with a performance cam fitted?

Just thinking of doing one on mine and I'm open to suggestions as to which to go for. It's just I'd rather spend a couple of hundred quid on a mod with definate power gains than, "This exhaust might give you 2 or 3 extre ponies" and at a cost of somewhere near £300.

Dont get me wrong, an exhaust change is definatley on the cards along with the usual air filter and I'm also thinking of trying a 4bar fuel pressure regulator (has anyone tried this?).

Also with regards to chipping/mapping, any suggestions.

This is my 3rd 6n polo, I've had 2 1.4 8 valves and a 1.4 16v and I just think that there is so much more that can be got out of the 8v!

I will only be happy when I've got somewhere near 90hp or so.......

Usual performance upgrades, full exhaust system including manifold, performance air filter (BMC etc), Cold air feeds, GT Cam out of mk3?

GT Cam out of mk3?

You ended with a ? mark, does this mean you're unsure about this as I've also heard that the mk3 GT cam works well.

Mk3 GT cam is a popular (to an extent!) mod for the 8v engine, check out the DIY for it over in the DIY section of this very forum
