miss fireing 1.4 8v

Hi

I have a 1996 1.4 8v polo. it's only done 65000 miles and other than this miss fire it runs very well

it is under acceleration but worse in 4th 5th gears around 3000 rpm I have changed the plugs leads disributer cap and rota arm and filters this has improved it but it is still there !

do i need to replace the ignition module ?

is this a common fault ?

Have you had the cam timing checked?

Check the output from the coil pack with a testing tool (a good mechanic should have one!)

The car is sorted now the distributer was out by 40 dergees !

teach me for using a crap garage !!
