6N Brake Help!!

Hi All,

New to the forum but after some advice if people would be so kind...

I have a 1997 1.4, 16v . Went to change the pads and discs at the weekend to find that aswell as needing a new seals/pistons, one of the bolts on the carrier itself has rusted solid so that it no longer 'floats' in and out if that makes sense...

No end of heating or hitting will free it, so new/recon carrier time.

Nows where the fun begins!! Are the brakes and carrier for the 16v model the same as that for any other 6N variant?

Trying to explain today to various salvage yards, that I was able to unbolt the carrier and that I wanted to bolt a new one on was a nightmare.

The common response was that it was all cast into the hub, so am I missing something??? I swear this weekend I unbolted the caliper from the carrier then the carrier from the hub!! Surely anyone would have to do this anyway to remove the disc...

Any help on what I should specifically be asking for (brake carrier / hub carrier are they not the same??)would be much appreicated as this has just got us confused now!! Or would getting a recon caliper have the carrier attached??
