100W are illegal yes, but before I had my HID's I had 100W in for about 3 months, never been pulled. All thats difference is, obviously the power output, but the light intensity. It just looks as if the beam patterns shining right at you. Only way to find out the difference between 55W and 100W is to pop the bonnet, and check the bulbs out for the cops. But other than that driving past at 30mph+, it is very doubtful they will notice it.

My sidelights are a dirty yellow colour. I was going to get nice white ones (non hid) but you have to take the bumper off to file a whole to make new ones fit Why?

100W is legal only for rally and off road use, plus it puts almost double the amount of current draw through the headlight wiring - potential damage there!

Just think about this before fitting them:

55watt lamps draw around 4.5 Amps...100watts ones take 8.3 Amps.

The car wiring, fuses, switches & relays were NEVER designed to take nearly twice the current. If your wiring melts...don't say you weren't warned.
