TOPIC DESCRIPTION: Owned the gti for over two years now so thought its about time I showed a few pics.

Model: GTI 6N2

Engine: 1.6 16V VVTI (Standard)

Suspension: Standard

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: 16" Dotz Mugello's wrapped in 195/40/16 toyo proxes

Exterior Styling: Debadged polo badge, aero wipers, headlamp protectors, rear mudflaps, drivers stubby mirror.

Interior Styling: Standard with heated leather, audi tt alluminium pedal upgrade

ICE and Security: VW 'MCD' Sat Nav/cd and standard 6 cd changer

Comments: Picked this low mileage standard gti up two years ago, comments welcome - may consider lowering shortly

Liking it mate. Just needs to be a little bit lower!

Id also recommend getting an aero rear wiper as itll tidy up the rear end nicely

thanks folks, yea I couldnt see a rear aero when I purchased my front but I will have another look. Im thinking of lowering but I dont want to lower to much probably between 40-60max, not sure where to start with the lowering with so many options out there. Dont really want to spend in excess of £200 on lowering either, and want to maintain the ride quality which I think is just right in standard form

Nice car man, Im guessing the rims didnt have the vw center caps when you got them? or did they? if not then what are they and how did you get them on? very interested in these rims, they seem to match a polo even better than the RXII's

Nice Care Mate, looks really well.

Wheels really suit it to be fair. Agree with the above that it needs lowering, maybe some Sportline Eibach Springs 50mm?

Thanks a lot for the comments guys. Im not really one for modding to much but I decided to go for the wheels as the bbs originals continually corroded even after I had refurbed them. The alloy wheels are 16" Dotz Mugello's they are black with full polished face and deep dish lip. It took me a long long time to search for a wheel that IMO I knew would suit the car and something a little different that no body else had. The DOTZ wheel brand are german and specialise really in BMW and VW fitment, those wheels went straight on my car no dramas and you would be suprised at how cheap you can pick them up and I believe their pretty good quality. I finished them off nicely with some VW centre caps off ebay aswell. I would like to lower but if I go for new springs I presume that means new shocks aswell? Dont really want to go the coilover route as I don't want to go to low and to get decent coilovers your looking at big money.

You can go up to about 45mm on decent springs on the factory shocks. Something like eibach pro or sportline or HnR springs would do the job nicely certainly no more than that is needed on 16s. Mine is down 40 and sits just right!

and are you on just new springs then mate and which do you have if you dont mind me asking as i do agree the stance of you car is bob on. Point me in the right direction as to the cheapest place to get them aswell

I used to have eibach pro 40mm springs on on standard shocks which was pretty good. Now I run HnR cup kit suspension (springs and shocks) with a 40ish mm drop.

Im looking on venom mate at the pro kit and they are all sayin 25 or 30mm i was hoping for 40 like you suggested, im confused.com :s
