Re: My GTI progress thread (Update 17th Sep)
Looking good Dude, the car had certainly taken a beaten over the last year! Quite a dear price tag mind, but nothing beats sorting out all the niggly bits on the bodywork.

Re: My GTI progress thread (Update 17th Sep)
When I got the car back I washed and clayed it, before trying to use my G220 to get some of the scratches out of the roof, bonnet and rear bumper. Didn't really work too well (only second time using it!) even using Megs 83 and a cutting pad, but I got some of the lighter ones out. Gave it a coat of Autoglym SRP then 2 coats of Jetseal 109. Also fitted a new grille (clips were broken on the old one) with the red piping, new front VW and GTI badges and a rear anniversary GTI badge. Went out tonight to get a few pics. Turned out a little crap as my Nikon D90 was having a hissy fit and wouldn't let me choose the no flash setting which usually works well

Only thing left to do before I sell it is maintain the bodywork. My RX's are all kerbed so I'm looking out for a set of refurbed 16" RX II's. My accident in 2007 with the flying van exhaust never allowed me to mod the car I really wanted to, so I'm a little disappointed I never got to finish it. I have the money now to mod it but need a change after 3 years, and the Abarth is even better to drive, quicker yet has cheaper road tax and running costs. My plan for the Polo if I had the money I did now as a student:
- Forged BBS alloys (forgotten the code)
- Raceland manifold with sport cat powerflow system
- LSD (saw they now do one for the Polo on Club Lupo)
- Rear anti-roll bar
- Smoothed rear bumper
- Hella rears (a possibilty I looked into)
- Cams & a remap
- Darkened interior headlining, rear view mirror, etc
- Braided hoses
Ahh well, at least I tried
edit: this post follows on from my last post on P23
