16v head on an 8v?

Post by Jordy-6n2 »

Is it possible to put a 1.4 16v head on a 1.4 8v engine?

what work would need to be done?

1 not much point imo and 2 it can be done, but you need to have waterways welded up. It would make little difference in performance tbf!

Theres alot more to a 16v block than just the head. Uprated injectors, larger tb all that, plus a totally different ECU.

If you want that kinda power, change the whole engine, or buy one that comes with it

Would possibly be cheaper to just buy the GTI engine+gearbox I have and use that!
