My First VAG Reading

Post by lowfoon »

I only have the shareware versions so their may be more but the codes that it produced was:

17633
17635
17636
17634
17525

I understand the first four is a 'Fuel Injector: Short to ground' to each cylinder and the last one is 'Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating Circuit'.

I've research a little, and I'm sort of getting an idea its the fuel pump relay - Can anyone provide more informations??

Short to ground means a wiring fault - follow the loom and make sure its not damaged around the injectors

As for the other codes, ill check the workshop manual and get back to you!

talking about vag-com, is it possible to program the instruments codes so the car does a gauge test/needle sweep?

as this audi does : https://www.youtube*.com/watch?v=dmuxgGY-A28

I think it's not possible cos I found the code and it does not match :(

this was on an audi forum
Enabling Gauge Test/Needle Sweep
This will sweep the gauge needles through their full range automatically when you start the engine.

[Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Coding - 07]
[Long Coding Helper]
Click on each of the Byte numbers in step 3) and you'll see the selectable options below.
Check the box for "Gauge Test/Needle Sweep active"
[Do It!]
I found no "long Coding helper" on my vag com

Did you find anything in the workshop manual Alex?

I cleared the code and it has come back again along with the Lambda Sensor :x

I meant maybe the HT leads are triggering the injector VAG codes...

Umm unlikely - injectors are in a different section to the sparks or HT leads so I see it unlikely.
