Light set up.

Post by 5509433 »

Hi, im looking change my lights and would just like an opinion.
I like these (but not sure if they will suite a standard red 8v polo)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-POLO-9 ... _500wt_956

and these

http://www.orange-tuning.de/shop/dectan ... 15718.html

Again, i have got no idea if they will suit my car.

Another question i have is about bulbs.

With out upgrading to HIDs (insurance reasons), what are the best bulbs.

If you could list like this..

Full beam - ...
Side - ....
Indicator - ....
Side Indicator - ...
Brake - ....
Reverse - ...
Rear fog - ...
Front Fog - ...

Interior - ...

(i take it the 3rd brake light isnt upgradeable?)

Links would also be great. Thanks.

to be fair mate, if you are considering changing the headlights to those, and you are worried about insurance, your in a worse position doing that than fitting HIDs - its still a modification, and is more visible than a new set of bulbs for sure!

If you want bright headlights otherwise:

full, fog, and dipped beam get Osram Nightbreakers

Indicator osram diadems, side indicator i wouldnt bother changing

Same goes for brakes and reverse and rear fog- there is no point changing them.

Thanks!

The HiDs though, i have seen a post on here where people have had to take them off for it to pass the MOT.?

Is that true?

It depends on the MOT tester. Its all to do with the precision of the beam pattern, as some poor quality kits create alot of glare that dont create a decent beam for MOT purposes. Ive had three sets now, and I have never had any problems on MOT

Which sets did you have?

Is there instructions on fitting?

Also, what bulbs do they use?

And does it just just upgrade full beam or just sidelights?

Thanks

these would look better for the tail lights and most probably could do with being legal ... apart from being Hella and LEDs  http://global.ebay.com/Hella_LED_Heckle ... 48203/item
