PLEASE HELP!! MY POLO IS DIEING!! :'(

Post by MissRagz »

Ok guys, i need some serious help.... opened up the bonnet the other day and had a general look around, whipped off the cover for the air filter to find that the air filter was full of oil!!

Its been really tapitty for a couple of weeks (only owned it for a month so far!) and put some new oil in it as it seemed a bit low. Drove it all the way to London and back (i live in Bournemouth so a fair few miles lol) and it was totally fine and now this has happened! Admittedly it could do with a full service but money is extremely tight at the mo :( I've given it a good clean and changed the air filter, spark plugs and leads. Planning on getting the oil filter and an oil change done on it in the next couple of days. I need it to be able to drive all the way to Lancaster in may so really need it running well enough to last the journey lol.

I don't want to have to send it to the scrapper like i did my fiesta!

Someone, please if you've got any idea what i can do to help the poor thing?

Thanks
Ellie

Have you check the breather pipe that goes into the air filter? Do you think it's the oily cream from that or normal oil? There shouldn't be any reason why you'd have oil all over your filter.

Air filter and plugs are changed less frequently than oil and oil filter but, if you have no genuine recorded service history it could be feasable the they were last changed along with the air filter............the engine will thank you for it.

The history of the car shows that the last recorded service was done in 2006!!!
