Airbox clamp

Post by Gillen »

I've just taken the top of my airbox off and disconnected it from the TIP (i think?) but now the clamp has come off the TIP and i can't squeeze it enough together to get it back on.

Any tips?

This:

It was OK taking it off because the two bits were close enough to use pliers, but now they're too far apart to use pliers.

Off topic, but is that the Forge Split-R DV?

If it is, its connected the wrong way around by the looks of it

I did the same, someone let me know in my thread:

haha! - That might be why then!

No probs dude

---------------------------

I had a bit of trouble with that clamp when I put my K&N on, I ended up jamming one side against something and forcing it closed enough to get the plyers back on them when the gap was small enough

Car is going into the garage on Thursday, do you reckon a cable tie will hold the pipe on under boost?

Its just the air intake it wont be under any pressure so yeeea or have you got a jubillee clip? A cable tie would hold it. Mabe put two on. But its jsut the air intake no worries there :)

Yeah I think I'll put a couple of cable ties on it then get a jubilee clip for it. The standard VW clips are a joke!

Only way its gonna move is the engine vibration/speed bumps ect, airflow won't do squat - cable tie would be fine :)

hahahahah and i thought it only happend to me

the same thing happend to me i was fiting with it for ages, then i got bored and found an old coke bottle in my car, taped it up so it went fat n put the ring around it, this then made it just about the right size for me to let go of the grips n put them bak to make them go wider
