window not working... broken wire

is this the reason my window dosent work (the wire is grey) ? i connected them and it went down but when i went to bring the window back up it stopped and slid itself back down is that all cause of this wire being broken ?, also there is a brown wire that has started to split whats that one ?

Brown is earth - repair it

As for not coming back up, thats the sign of a buggered window motor. Get it out, lubricate it all backup with a decent grease and check all the regulator mounts are intact are grease the slides and it should be better.

ill get on it as soon as then but im moving to malia for 3 months soon so im trying not to put any money in the car at the min so i will do all i can with the motar but if it needs replacing then it can wait till i get back.

ha ha thats providing im back in time i hope to be back by sept the 1st, if not im going to miss it... not taking my car anyway going in a mates. its only 10 mins from my house ha ha lucky for some eh !
