Headlights and clear indicators

Post by dan_m2k »

Hey guys,

my girl's 99v open air has suffered a cracked headlght which keeps filling with water and blowing bulbs (annoying) and as Ive not been able to find instructions, can someone give me an idea of what sort of job it is to replace, please?

Whilst I've got the headlight off, do I need to remove the indicators? If I do I might swap the orange indys for clear ones - it's silver and I think it'll improve the frontend loads, what do you reckon?

There's 2 screws above the headlight against the slam panel. There's another screw at the bottom centre of the headlight, which you access in between the headlight and bumper.

Hey, NOZ above tells you about the headlamp removal and it's really easy to remove the front indicators too. There's one securing screw which is at the top of each headlamp right next to each wing. Just release that screw and slide the indicator out forwards (and then remove the wiring plug). That's it!

My polo came with clear front indicators as standard and I think they look really good. Although my polo is red am sure they will look good with silver. I also fitted clear side repeaters (not crystal just normal clear) and I think they look better than the standard amber ones.

Apologies for the slightly rubbish quality
