rear door speakers, lots of help needed lol

Post by flownerdia »

hey guys, new here :)

only been driving for 3 months now and first car:
Polo 1.2 9n3 - 5dr Silver

love my music so those are the first and most important mods for me.

pioneer ipod ready headunit
pioneer 12" 1000w RMS Subwoofer
Audiobahn 800w RMS amp

recently got some JBL GTO 938 6x9 (100w rms) 6x9s which i am running off the headunit

still not loud enough for me!!

i have no speakers in the rear doors (mainly because i dont know how to fit them ( unless any of u could tell me how to open the door panel)

what else would i need for it to go louder? amps? another sub? help!! (i want more treble now, i feel i got quite good bass at 800w)

ditch your 6x9s!

good set of components up front

maybe a set in the back, but co-axials will do (debateable)

then amp them up!

still not loud enough?

better sub and amp!

make sure you use adequate sound deadening!

Splits in the front should help with the sound stage.

Do you have the 16 / 9 in the parcel tray? If so, you should enclose the back of them.

How is the Sub boxed? The Amp and sub should be OK for some pretty serious bass, but you need a well designed box to get the most out of it. IMO, sealed gives tighter bass with bigger subs whilst Ported / Vented rely on box being well matched to driver (sub).

The head unit won't be able to keep up, you really need a good quality 4 x ? amp. I ran a Eclipse 4 x 50 in an old car, it was freakin loud.

Better branded amps / speakers over big power claims, always going to get a better result...
