I was thinking about a 1.4 16v from a mk4 polo (as i've heard the other 1.4 16v from other age polo's only have 75bhp?) and was wondering if any knows if it would fit straight in or if i need to change much? can i keep the same gear box? or does any1 have any better suggestions? Thanks

Not sure but i'm pretty certain its a straight swap...
I'm also pretty certain that its a massive waste of time, you may as well just flog your 1.0 and buy a valver... would work out a hundred times easier and cheaper!

Re: Engine swap advice needed plz
youre prob best putting a 1.6 16v gti engine in from a 6n2 if your defo gonna follow through with it
would be best for power increase and would just be a better engine 125bhp
it could be easier like andy said with just buying a new car/ or one with the type of engine you want
but u could do the engine swap and keep quiet ie gti or 16v power and 1.0 insurance
did think this myself when i had my one litre peter, but got rid and eventually got a cheap 16v
good luck with ur choice trin (Y)
