Temp Gague... gone off?

my temp gauge inside the dash has gone off....

i am affraid that with it getting to summer my car may over heat without me being able to tell till i smell cooking engine

anyone know how to sort this out??

easy hard?

wouldn't that be a faulty temp sensor/s in the engine?
