central locking inop?

hey, well ive got a problem wth my central locking, well it locks the drivers door with the key (oviously) the fuel cap and boot lock also lock now and again, but not allways and the passenger door wont lock or unlock at all with the central locking. the pump runs for 35 sec then trips out as the haynes manual states. ive had a listen but cant seem to find any air leaks though :s, the pump sucks and blows when activated and non of the lock mechanical mechanisims seem to be seized,
any sugestions would be greatly apprciated.
