It’s an easy job just need to undo the original OE base via a retaining nut and place the new one on. Just one connector and 1 piece of trim to remove to gain access

Well this week has seen the transformation of my polo although there are some areas still for improvement! Such as the ridiculous amount of camber on the front wheels I have gained!

Anyway thought id give a sneaky peak (well a fairly large peak) of how it is looking more pictures will follow once its gleaming and I’m totally happy with the look!

Here it is:

Thanks dub6n2

The wheels are 15 x 8j et 25 and the tyres fitted are 195/45/15s.

Due to sped humps in and out of work and around my area the car isn’t that low ! And also it wouldn’t go much lower without some arch work but that could be in the pipeline someday! The front splitter is about 110 mm from the ground

cos I am not much into tires and wheels  how wide in inches would 8j be? and what is the standard tire width it should be running so I can compare pls :) I think I am running on 7j with 195/50/15, what would give me some stretch but nothing exaggerated? would 185 or 175 do? thanks loads

I would like to go lower but the scrubbing at the height it is already quite bad would need the arches rolled hummmm now there’s a thought!

Dub6n2 8j is 8inches width ..I would recommend looking on www.tyrestretch.com to as this shows you loads of different tyre/wheel combinations allowing you to see what can be achieved. I think a standard tyre for mine would be a 205 how ever don’t hold me to that haha

ahh thanks Alex, that site was very helpful. I think I ll go from 195 to 175  Are all tire brands stretchable? or could the side wall crack or break?

Some brands are better for strech than others. Haveing a quick look these are some tyres that people use:

Falken 452
Toyo T1R
Toyo Proxes 4
Falken 512
Dunlop SP9000

Hope that helps

RS_GT Thanks bud :D

i wanted to go for either 15x8 et30 or 16x8 et35 (options for the wheels i want) do you get major inner scraping or poke with 8j? do you have any spacers on?

Hummm with the higher et I could see that running in to problems although with some tyre stretch you may get away with it (don’t hold me to this). Mine are 8j with an offset of 25 and they do poke out a little but not a lot and do scrub occasionally I would like to go lower but would need arches rolled..

Oh and nope i dont run spacers

Looks Quality mate, very similar to mine bar the wheels.

Keep the plate where it is, looks much better there in my opinion 8)
