My local VW want £65 to do a full recharge. this includes them checking everything over pipework and that make sure its all tip top, and if you opt for it for a further £10 they will put an antibacterial agent through it. I don't think that's bad for £75 personally. Not from the stealers anyway!!

I'm usually charged £40 at my local garage for a re-gas, leak test and anti bacterial treatment.

Yup.. My last one was £48....


If you can, find an aircon specialist... they are most likely to do a proper job.... it should be:

Drain current gas and oil > Pressure test with die to check for leaks > re-fill with gas and the correct amount of lubricant oil.... then do the anti fungal bomb inside the car

I got mine done at *cough* Kwikfit a few weeks ago. Its £49 for a regas service. To be honest I thought it was ok. Also you dont pay for the service if the air con isnt cooler than when they started. As mine was a bit dodgy at the time and didnt work when they tested it, I got it free! So might be worth a look.

guy near me does it for £29.99. i got mine done last summer for two packets of jaffa cake s:D hahaha.... working in the raf and with huge air con coolers for the aircraft has it uses lol
