PCD Fittings

Post by knappster »

Hi Guys
I hope this isn't a really stupid question, however i don't really know much about cars and im trying to expand my knowledge. I'm pretty sure my Polo is PCD 100 (obv 4 stud as i can see it!!) i was wondering what other 4-stud PCD's would fit this. If anybody could enlighten me then it would be much appreciated
cheers

no other PCDs will fit with 4x100 apart form that of course. You need adapters then to fit wheels with other PCDs

Cheers for the help guys, much appreciated!!! :)
So one other thing, when a PCD says 'X' 100 (or any other number) what does that number stand for? Is it the bolt length? Or the distance between the bolts or something?
I've found some wheels from a new mini that i like, the guy says there 4 x 95, however that link you posted to the fitments guide (@ Bepe) says the new mini is 4 x 100, do you reckon that the guy got it wrong, or is it possible that his are actually 4 x 95?
cheers

this is how PCD works mate (the distance between the bolts) http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/wheeltech/pcd.jpg

mini wheels make use of wobble bolts to fit that car so I think that they fit a mini PCD (that of 4x95) cos of these special nuts (that allow some play in PCD) but the wheels are actually 4x100 cos I heard some who has fitted them on their polo
