Just bought a Polo MKV, Couple of Questions...

Post by foey »

Hey all,

This week I part-ex'd my girl friends Sport KA SE. It was a good car, however way to thirsty for her and starting to rust under the fuel cap and under the seals :o Shocking for a 2003 which has only 40k on the clock.

1 Lady owner who part-ex'd it in a VW for a brand new polo. Its mint bar the hub caps and a small scrape on the bumper. Its done 33,000 !!! and has 7 main dealer service stamps !!

- I need to replace the wheels, I think the front two are buckled, visually and you can feel it at a certain speed - I need some VW/GTi wheels, anyone have any? Any polo VW wheels would do? If not, where would be the best place?
- Both inner edges of the tyres are very low in comparison to the rest of the tyre, does this need tracking and wheel alignment? It also squeals at low speed round almost every roundabout!
- It has the standard head unit, I read somewhere I could add the OEM CD changer? These easy to come by /cheap?

Cheers :)

Needs tracking/alignment. And a pair of new tires also. Are they still original?

May well be!! :)

Also the car came with one key, did the MKV polo come with a remote fob to unlock the car without putting the key in the lock?

It may be worth trudging through the forums for alittle while.Especially clubpolo, alot of the youngsters go out and buy discusting wheels and sell the good quality origional models for a decent price.Trouble is as alot of them are 9-10 years old now so could probably do with a refurb but it makes a hell of a difference to the cars overall appearance
