Hi guys,
Looking to delock the doors and boot on my car. I've found various kits on the internet for the door handles, but I'm having trouble finding any information on the boot handle.
Does anyone know if its just a case of replacing the boot handle completely or is there a blank barrel etc to fit as well? Anyone got the part number for the delocked boot release?
Thanks in advance
Delocking
Re: Delocking
you can buy boot handles without the hole for the barrel from vw. They started putting them on the polos from 07 onwards if i remember correctly. Dont have a part number though

Excellent, just the information I was looking for. Thanks
If anyone does happen to have the part number though, it would be appreciated...

Re: Delocking
Ok, finally got around to doing this recently, thought I would put up the relevant part numbers etc in case anyone's interested.
The parts for the door handles are sold in kit form on the internet. VW Teeside does one on ebay, which is what I used.
The boot handle without the barrel hole is 6Q6 827 565 H GRU. However, on cars with this already fitted the mechanism and wiring is slightly different. The options available are either to cut down the existing barrel, making refitting the original impossible, or to fit the new mechanism.
The part numbers of the new mechanism are:
Metal bracket: 6Q6 827 601 F
Connecting rod: 6Q6 827 515 C
Wiring plug: 1J0 973 702
Microswitch: 1T0 962 103 A
The original wiring plug has three wires, but the new one has only two. You need to lose the wire in pin 3 (brown/white).
I'll try and sort out a guide for this at some point as well.

Hey blazeguarder,
Just wanna say thanks for the part numbers, it is really useful as i am thinking about going down the same route as you. I only want bootlid handle delocked. Hmm...i wonder how much the whole operation will cost? I will get VW to sort me out with a price and see what they can do for me. Thanks again.

V-Man - I got some of the parts from a breakers so I can't give you an exact price list, but the handle itself was about £35-40 I think, and the connecting rod and wiring plug were a couple of quid each. The handle comes unpainted though, so you'll need to get it sprayed. I also used a repair wire which is cheap as well. The other parts I got from the breakers, but I wouldn't think that they were too expensive.
The wiring itself is pretty easy to do, I just spliced the new wiring onto the old. Don't know how much the dealers would charge for this, but it only took me about half an hour to complete the entire job. The rest of the parts are easy to fit, just a matter of undoing a split pin and a 4 Torx bolts. Its basically a direct replacement and is very self explanatory.
