Using Non-Genuine VW Parts- Bad Choice?

Post by MODDED9N »

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone had any experience using non-guine vw parts but replica parts like wings and bonnets because I do not know how good the quality will be! Any input would be appreciated! Thanks

In my experience the metal is half the quality of genuine parts and they usually don't line up correctly either.

Personally I would only ever use genuine parts when changing body panels 8)

Another vote for genuine parts here.

Unless you're really good at bodywork, most of the time the time/money needed to make them fit properly, with even panel gaps and all, means that you're probably better off buying genuine. Its cheaper for a reason.

What sort of damage are you trying to repair? If it's of the car park variety you might be better off getting a few body shops to quote you to repair the damage instead of replacing the panels. Obviously if it's more severe then this option probably isn't feasible though.
