Polo gti Vs Corsa VXR

which is quicker

stage 1 mapped polo (around 195-200 bhp)

or a Corsa VXR (around 200 bhp)

Have to agree with Gillen

I have raced my standard gti with a corsa vxr up a hill, but lost only by a car length Nothing to be proud of but saying that the vxr is 100KG lighter and +40BHP more power.
We both started of from what I think is at 4th and the GTI was catching up quickly but dont know why knowingly I didnt choose 3rd as due to turbo lag and the fella did which gave him the lead To this day I regret it but hey you learn from your mistakes.

I am not too sure how it would be on a normal road but think the VXR will beat a 'STANDARD' GTI and plus having an extra gear wouldnt help. I havent experienced or sat in a mapped GTI so dont want to comment on that but best would be to put them to test.

I enjoy every moment of the GTI even though it is not remapped but in terms of reliability and valve I stick with the VW badge

Same here, definitely choose a VW over a Vauxhall anytime in my life.

polo was stock back than, it was a 200m dragrace, won it with +-3 carlenghts.

a friend of mine has a new BMW 318d + chip, it runs 185hp and 390nM.
he is just a tiny bit slower as my light tuned polo GTI with 175Hp and 255nM.
came across a Corsa VXR the other day with his BMW and nailed the corsa without any problem.
my opinion, they are not as fast as you expect tham to be...

Have to agree with Turbomier here! If it wasnt for him to change to a lower gear the Polo GTI would have beat it without a doubt
Hopefully I will see him one day and show him what the GTI is capable
