No GTi's in DORSET!!!

Post by bradley1983 »

I have lived in Ferndown now 2 years after moving from london and I have not seen 1 polo GTi local but in london 5 of my mates have one!

Is it a london thing? I have noticed Corsa's and Nova's. I think these are really chav!

Is anyone here from east dorset?

Your not alone mate, there isnt any round by me either.
They are very rare cars remember and becoming rarer so your never going to see many unless you go to a few shows.

Your not on your own matey, ive seen about 6 in kent but none of them being driven by people that are interetsed in them. All looked abit worse for ware etc.One guy has one that goes to the same local meet but he's selling up to get back into fords.

Be cool if someone in the same town had one and could do bits to them etc,but then it's kinda nice having a car there isn't millions of.I get alot of looks from chavy twats in corsa's looking to see what car it is.

Well said Bradley the Corsa, Saxo, 106 and Clio scene around my area is horrendous! all tatty little cars with bin lid exhausts doing 60 in 30 zones! Can't stand them.

Always get them starting at my car as I drive past, normally with their jaws wide open and eyes glazed over.

I dont think the Fast & Furious films helped things, all these spotty 17 year olds think their Vin Diesel these days haha

I can see both sides of the argument.

The rarer the better I think! Hate it when I see another one. Especially if its nicer/cleaner/lower miles/ride height.

On the other hand would be cool to see someone else's close up to compare. But then again thats sort of what i do on this forum :)

The Majority of the GTI's I have seen been completely standard.
I saw 4 at castle combes race track earlier in the year all on show and I have seen around 5 or 6 dotted on the roads.

I remember seeing a Slammed Silver one on the way to Bristol which looked very cool, it was de-badged at the back so I wasnt sure at first but the gave me the thumbs up which was nice. :)

I love seeing them on the roads, makes you realise how good looking they are.

The number of GTI's on here seem to have fallen rapidly in the last 2 or 3 years which is a real shame.
I have only been a member for 2 years but before I joined the forum I was on here for months just looking at other peoples Gti's getting idea's and plans together for mine.

There are only maybe 8 or 9 regular posters in the GTI section at the moment which is a bit gutting.

I know what people mean about chavy cars. Polo's are slick and cool. 106, saxo's, corsa and clio's are so cheap and ugly!

Wow 3 people local. I bet thats 1/10 of the GTi population!

They did make 3000 UK examples so not quite 1/10 but they certainly are rare
