6N2 1.0 Slightly High Idle

Post by battax »

Greetings,

I have a 6N2 1.0 and i have a slightly high idle, at 900rpm more or less. The default value is 700 +/- 100rpm

With Vag-Com i had one error, Coolant Temp Sensor, that was changed.

The idle resumed to normal 200 Km´s after the sensor was changed, but today it reverted back to the same 900rpm.

At cold start it revs to 2000rpm for a few seconds and slows down after. Idle is constant there is no fluctuations.

I have no errors with vag-com. Did the Throttle Adjustment in vagcom too.

Any ideas? Vacuum hose? With the filter cover on, i didn´t found any leak.

I´m really out of ideas.

Thanks

Try cleaning the throttle body out with a decent carb/intake cleaning spray

I´ve heard when the throttle body is dirty the idle is erratic, mine is constant, but soon i will try that.
When i change the spark plugs too, i´m using a Beru platinum sparking plugs, i will see the throttle body too and search for leaks on the intake.

Cleaned the TB and didn´t help.

I have the cambelt tensor coming to a end, it screams a little. Can it be the cause?

Other thing i was thinking was the air pressure sensor, not giving error now but a few years ago it dit, but it was gone after a few miles.

If the cambelt tensioner is screaming, get the cambelt and tensioners changed as soon as possible

Yep i know. what´s weird is that the high idle started at almost the same the cambelt tensor.

It will be the first time is changed, the car have almost 40.000 miles.
