Electric Windows Playing up!

Post by Josh_6n2_Polo »

Hello All.

Tonight I was driving back from work and tried to roll down both driver and passenger electric windows but nothing seemed to happen. I could hear the clicking noise but they weren't budging. Didn't think of it too much as this sort of thing had happend before and had later fixed itself. As I arrived home I gave it one last attempt however this time the passenger window finally decided to roll down without any trouble. But my drivers window was still sadly not budging.

I then tried the windows sometime later (this evening) and neither are working!! :(

So what could be causing this problem? "BARE IN MIND" I can stil hear a clicking sound.

Hope someone can help.

Hey Dude,

Open up your drivers door, and check the loom (in the rubber casing where the door is hinged) i had the exact same problem and a couple of the wires had cut... i rewired them together and wrapped them in electrical tape... job done!

Good Luck! :D

The rubber tube - you need to pull it away from the car side towards the door and all the wires will then be visible

Okay well I've addressed the first problem. That being the passenger window that seems to be something to do with the switch. It's very tempremental one minute it'll work from using the main controls on the drivers side and one minute it wont. So i assume its the switch. And if so where is the best place to go to get 1 part number please?

And the drivers window problem ive yet to address. one thing at a time!
