Here's mine.

I got it from eBay for £134 inc. postage: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

You can change the light colour to match your interior lighting. Fills the gap and has a sort of OEM+ look.

Now i'm gutted! I literally just brought the Sony MEX38...blahblahblah last weekend and this one looks mintfor the money!

Nevermind, good purchase all the same but screen is a little small and fliddy controls, actually think it makes it more dangerous to drive than before!

Im thinking about a double din. Need one with full speed ipod. Would love a proper VW one. Guess say a mk5 golf one wouldn't fit though?

Factory looking or flashly?! :?

Hi, Yeah. You can get the same head unit with a USB port (which is on the front, next to the AUX jack) but I opted for the cheaper one and bought an iPod connection lead (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT) that plugs into the back and gives me full control of my Pod form the head unit controls (the right-side round knob is a sort of joystick).
I don't like stuff hanging out the front. Gets in the way of the cup holders (I have two) and the gearknob.
I had a standard AUX cable plugged into the front in that photo as I was still waiting for my iPod lead to be delivered.
I'll get a photo of it in daylight and upload it tomorrow. :)

I'm having a similar debate myself. So far I've just been considering the MFD from our era and some kind of iPod connectivity kit. Dension or Xcarlink or whatever it is. I like the OEM look but the MFD from that era is a bit dated now... I saw something in PVW a few months back about a company called inphase audio who had made head units that have a VW OEM look, tons of functionality and at a fairly decent price. Unfortunately, there's nothing on their website about it :( it's been a few months since then too. I'll have to hoke it out!
