Right well seem to be spending money on this car. done all sorts to it recently. as i said in past from day one the gearbox has not been right at all. its never been smooth neither has the clutch. so my next thinking is to get a recon box and uprated clutch not just original one. not sure when gonna do this just when i got time but was woundering if anybody could help me (guidance) how to get old one out etc etc. also anybody no were to get a recon box from? in north yorkshire?
thanks
tom

Re: polo gearbox removal
Best option is that you get a haynes manual as there are quite alot of steps involved in getting a gearbox off- invaluable for things like this and useful for other maintenance etc too

Re: polo gearbox removal
generally they only need reconning when they start to grind and the bearings become noisy
Re: polo gearbox removal
well i wouldnt say it grinds and isnt noisly well there is a slight wering noise when ya change gear but thats all.
not sure if wering noise is engine or gearbox.
if only ya could describe noise by text lol
